Sonas Hotel Collection, independently owned and run by hotelier Anne Gracie Gunn and her family, owns three hotels on Skye, and says it has invested £600,000 across its hotels over the last year with further investment to follow.
Four-star Duisdale House Hotel on Skye, which has 20 guest bedrooms and five yacht moorings in the bay in front of the hotel, has unveiled its 3 new rooms which were built earlier this year as part of the investment and the company has also invested in a new family suite and a double room at Skeabost House Hotel, near Portree – the only hotel on the Island with its own golf course. The Skeabost investment also included new road access to Skeabost. Further investment plans include refurbishing its gatehouse.
Toravaig House Hotel, their third hotel on Skye, with nine guest bedrooms, is close to the ferry crossing from Armadale to Mallaig.
At Duisdale House the company is working on polytunnels to grow more of its own herbs, fruit and vegetables and has created a staff “green team” to develop environmental initiatives.
