Radisson Hotel Group has announced the opening of Radisson Blu Hotel, Perth after an extensive renovation which has seen all guest rooms and public areas updated. The 75-room hotel first opened in 1890 as one of the original British Transport Hotels and was said to be a favourite of Queen Victoria.
General Manager, Asen Panagonov, says: “We are delighted to be bringing this much needed upscale hotel quality to Perth under the Radisson Blu brand. We aim to restore the hotel to its rightful position as the jewel of the Fair City and welcome guests for a relaxing stay within a vibrant city, surrounded by stunning scenery.”
“The addition of such a historic landmark property to our Radisson Blu portfolio in the UK is a great achievement. Radisson Blu Hotel, Perth is the seventh property to join our Scottish portfolio, with other hotels located in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, and Inverness,” comments Tom Flanagan Karttunen, Area Senior Vice President, Northern & Western Europe at Radisson Hotel Group.
Earlier this year Panagonov explained, “We hope to reinstate the hotel as the crown jewel of Perth city. Following our multi-million investment we are delighted to be bringing much needed upscale hotel quality to Perth, especially under the Radisson Blu brand.
“It is widely acknowledged that Perth city has no sites to build large, branded hotels. We will fill that gap with our top end offering. Our partnership with Radisson Hotel Group will help to radically improve our offering in the fast-growing Perth corporate and leisure market.”
The hotel will comprise 75 guest rooms and suites, a restaurant, lobby bar, garden bar, fitness room and treatment rooms and it is home to two ballrooms and conference rooms
