Mar Hall Golf and Spa Resort appoint Andy Roger as Resort Director

Mar Hall Golf and Spa Resort has appointed Andy Roger as Resort Director. He will oversee the resort’s reopening this spring, following a £20 million refurbishment that aims to cement Mar Hall as a premier international luxury destination.

With decades of experience in relaunching, repositioning, and leading heritage hotels and resorts, Andy brings a wealth of experience in leading flagship resorts and city hotels to this new role, including a decade at Cameron House as Operations Director and later Resort Director.

Mar Hall said that Andy is well placed to lead resort into its next chapter which sees the resort emerge from it’s multi-million-pound refurbishment across all areas. He will play a pivotal role in shaping Mar Hall’s programming and supporting the future phases of its growth, including the development of a new Clubhouse, Spa and 48 woodland lodges.

Andy Roger said, “I’m thrilled to begin this new chapter with Mar Hall. Returning to a more intimate resort setting is a welcome shift – it takes me back to my earlier roles, focussed on genuine, personal connections with both the team and our guests.

“Mar Hall has incredible advantages as a 240-acre country estate, close to Glasgow and as a gateway to the Highlands, and I’m looking forward to being part of its evolution as we expand over the coming years.”

Chris King, Managing Director, Align Partners said, “Andy is an exceptional hospitality leader who understands the power of people, purpose, and place. His track record in resort management speaks for itself, but it’s his passion for mentoring talent and creating standout guest experiences that truly sets him apart. We’re delighted to welcome him to the Mar Hall team.”

Originally from Glasgow, Andy brings a wealth of experience in leading flagship resorts and city hotels.  After completing his degree from the University of Edinburgh, Andy began his career with Malmaison and Hotel du Vin, rising quickly through the ranks. At just 27, he became the youngest General Manager in the company’s history at Hotel du Vin Tunbridge Wells, before returning to Scotland to launch Malmaison Aberdeen and later lead the 5-star Hotel du Vin at One Devonshire Gardens.

In 2013, Andy joined Cameron House as Operations Director and later Resort Director and, for over a decade, he led a team of 600 staff through two ownership changes and major refurbishments and expansion. Under his leadership, Cameron House achieved national and global recognition, earning the 5 AA Red Stars for the first time in its history.

Andy’s most recent role was as Chief Executive Officer at Lost Shore Surf Resort, where he oversaw the launch of the world’s first inland surf Resort in November 2024.

Alongside his leadership in hospitality, Andy brings a deep-rooted passion for philanthropy. He is involved with several organisations, including HIT Scotland, Apprenticeships in Hospitality Scotland and the Maggie’s Cancer Care Glasgow Fundraising Board, where he has served for over seven years.
