Auchrannie Resort to share £92,000 bonus with team

Employee-owned Auchrannie Resort on the Isle of Arran is to pay an end-of-year bonus totalling almost £92,000 to 112 members of its team.

It means that all eligible employees will receive a tax-free payment of £800 through the resort’s Employee Ownership Trust.

The resort says that the payment comes after a difficult trading year, which saw occupancy levels affected by a number of external factors, but tighter spending controls helped the business exceed its profit targets.

Auchrannie has also continued to invest in its guest experience, most recently completing a £400,000 refurbishment of the House Hotel guest lounges, which has created the new Hamilton’s Bar.

The resort has also submitted a planning application for a £4m investment in three new five- and six-bedroom luxury lodges, which it said reflects confidence in Arran’s visitor economy.

Tom Jessop, Finance Director at Auchrannie Resort, said, “We are delighted to be able to share this bonus with our team members, particularly after what has been a challenging year for the hospitality and tourism sector. As an employee-owned business, our people are at the heart of everything we do and this payment reflects their hard work, commitment and contribution to Auchrannie’s continued success.

“We remain confident in the future of Arran’s visitor economy and are continuing to invest in the quality of our guest experience, our team and the long-term future of the resort.”

Founded in 1998, Auchrannie Resort is one of Scotland’s leading island resorts and one of the Isle of Arran’s major employers. It has been employee-owned since 2017.
