Edinburgh Grand opens spa in former Bank of Scotland vaults

The Edinburgh Grand has opened a new spa beneath St Andrew Square, transforming the historic Bank of Scotland vaults into a luxury wellness space.

The Spa at The Edinburgh Grand occupies the hotel’s lower ground floor and features three private treatment suites. Designed as a dry spa, the concept focuses on precision facials and advanced body therapies rather than traditional wet facilities, and is open to both hotel guests and Edinburgh residents.

The space has been developed in partnership with Skeyndor, a Spanish skincare brand known for its clinical approach, bringing results-driven facial and body treatments to the city. Every treatment begins with a skin consultation and diagnostic assessment, with therapists tailoring programmes to individual needs.

The spa is led by Catriona Ross, who brings 12 years of luxury hospitality experience across the UK and UAE, including roles at The Savoy, The Ned London and Atlantis The Royal. A CIDESCO and ITEC-qualified therapist, Ross said her aim was to bring something distinctive to the city. “Our approach is notably unique within Edinburgh — through our partnership with Skeyndor, we focus on measurable outcomes and want to position the spa as the city’s trusted destination for skin health and refined service.”

The opening is the final stage of c’s journey into Scotland’s first Luxury Collection hotel, following a programme of works that has included refreshed suites, an updated front foyer and enhancements to the fitness centre and The Register Club.
