Andrew McLoughlin joins Crowne Plaza Glasgow

Crowne Plaza Glasgow has appointed Andrew McLoughlin as general manager, bringing more than two decades of UK hospitality experience to the waterfront property.

McLoughlin moved from Dublin to the UK 20 years ago and has since held general manager and operations director roles with a range of major brands including Jurys Inn, Accor, Hilton and Crowne Plaza. He previously ran the Crowne Plaza Aberdeen Airport hotel, which was brought into Valor Hospitality’s management portfolio in January this year.

McLoughlin said, “The Crowne Plaza Glasgow is a thriving hotel in an incredible city, one I have had the pleasure of working in throughout my career. I have been fortunate to work in some great operational roles in recent years, but it feels right to return to the position of general manager of such a high-profile city hotel. It is performing well and has a great team at its core. The decision to join Valor Hospitality was a no-brainer considering its reputation in the industry.”

The Glasgow property, which is among the official hotels for the 2026 Commonwealth Games taking place in Glasgow this summer, is operated by Valor Hospitality on behalf of owners ProsperCap.

Brian McCarthy, president at Valor Hospitality UK & Europe, said, “Andrew is certainly well placed to lead it. His career with various major hotel brands makes him a valuable addition to Valor, and we’re sure he will take this already excellent hotel to new levels.”
