The Marriott has announced that its upcoming W Edinburgh hotel is expected to open later this year – expected to be November.
Situated on St James Quarter, the 12-story hotel, which was originally due to be completed in 2021, will have 214 guestrooms, including 20 suites and an Extreme Wow Suite, W’s version of a presidential suite. It also offer a spa and 24-hour business centre.
To take advantage of its 360 degree views, the hotel boasts a rooftop and outdoor terrace, and will host fusion restaurant Sushi Samba, offering a blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine, as well as cocktail bar, Joao’s Place.
According to Marriott, the W Edinburgh goes beyond simply providing a central location in Scotland’s historic capital emphasising that it aims to “immerse you in the spirit of the festival capital of the world”.
The hotel is housed in the much-debated “ribbon hotel,” which has been subject to a range of opinions since its planning stages. The updated website for the venue promises an “experience unlike anything the city has seen before.”
