voco Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow has been named Scotland’s Leading Conference Hotel at the 2025 World Travel Awards.
The city-centre hotel, which completed a multi-million-pound refurbishment and rebrand in 2021 which included a full upgrade of its meetings and events spaces, received the accolade at the awards’ 32nd annual event. The win recognises the hotel’s facilities, service standards and guest experience across its meetings and events business.
It follows a successful year for the hotel, which has hosted conference and banqueting events for around 15,000 delegates from across the UK. Clients have included HIT Scotland, Women’s Enterprise Scotland, Network Rail, Rolls-Royce and the University of Strathclyde, with events ranging from large-scale conferences and awards dinners to business lunches and charity galas.
“This award is a true testament to the passion and dedication of our incredible team,” said Marcello Ventisei, Hotel Manager at voco Grand Central. “They work tirelessly to ensure every conference and event runs seamlessly, while helping our clients bring their vision to life.
“We have invested significantly in creating exceptional spaces that honour the rich history of this iconic hotel, while offering all the modern amenities today’s events demand.”
David Cochrane, Chief Executive of HIT Scotland, said, “Congratulations to voco Grand Central Hotel on this well-deserved award. We have hosted our Talent Conference at the hotel for several years now, and the experience has always been exceptional. The facilities are fantastic, the catering is excellent, and the professionalism and warmth of the staff are truly top class.”
