The Carlton Hotel in Prestwick has been sold by RAD Hotel Group to fellow Ayrshire-based operator Henry Fitzsimmons, owner of The Riverside Lodge Hotel in Irvine.
The 39-bedroom property, a longstanding part of the RAD portfolio since 2008, is well known locally as a destination for weddings, dining and events. All 57 staff at The Carlton Hotel will remain in post following the handover.
The deal, which is due to complete next month, marks the latest chapter of investment from The Fitzsimmons Group and owner Henry Fitzsimmons as they further invest in Ayrshire’s hospitality landscape, once again reinforcing the value of locally owned, family-run businesses within the region. RAD say that the time was right for them to pass the baton as they continue with their strategic plans and future developments.
