Stellar Murrayshall, the owner of Murrayshall Country Estate near Scone, has submitted its masterplan which includes an extension to the luxury four-star hotel, new spa and leisure facilities and the potential for outdoor pursuits. The property currently includes 40 bedrooms, two restaurants and two golf courses, and is set in 365 acres of land.
The masterplan application, currently requesting Planning Permission in Principle, also includes the construction of lodges, luxurious cabins, and timeshare properties.
The £30m project has also earmarked land to establish a solar farm, allowing a move towards decarbonisation and a reduction in the operational costs for the estate.
The projected multimillion-pound development is anticipated to bring economic investments to the area and creating up to 400 jobs throughout Perth and Kinross.
Initial plans for the estate’s diversification were completed in 2020, and a planning application was submitted to the council in March 2021. However, the application was subsequently withdrawn to reassess the range of proposed developments on the estate.
Gary Silcock, Murrayshall’s general manager commented, “Following an extensive consultation, we are delighted to bring forward our revised plans based on the feedback and comments received from the local community.
“This is an exciting time as we progress with our long-term aspirations for the estate which will ultimately help grow and sustain the business for years to come.
“We remain confident that the £30m investment for the diversification of Murrayshall will have a positive effect on the local economy, while securing jobs and creating new employment – we are committed to investing in our staff and have been engaging with UHI Perth to assist in training and development opportunities for employees.”
