Mar Hall expands senior team across F&B and sales

Mar Hall Golf & Spa Resort has announced a string of senior appointments including an Executive Pastry Chef, Director of Food and Beverage, Head Mixologist, and Director of Sales, as part of its multi-million-pound redevelopment plan.

Szilard Szentesi

High-end dessert chef and chocolatier, Hungarian-born Szilard Szentesi joins Mar Hall as Executive Pastry Chef. With previous senior roles including  St Andrews Links, The Gleneagles Hotel, and Cameron House, and with several Salon Culinaire medals, Szilard will also transform Mar Hall’s Afternoon Tea experience.

Alongside Szilard, Jessica McKechnie joins the resort as Pastry Chef de Partie. Jessica recently won ‘Dessert Chef of The Year’ at the Master Chefs of Great Britain Awards. Meanwhile Chris Mullen is set to take on the role of Head Mixologist where his theatre-style cocktail experiences will invite guests to “indulge in a premium beverage offering.”

Vicky Black becomes Director of Food & Beverage where she will oversee all food and beverage services across the resort, including leisure dining, conferences, and events.

In addition to these senior appointments across food and beverage, Mar Hall has also appointed a new Director of Sales, Janette Napier. Janette comes with 35 years of experience within Scotland’s hotel sector, including Cameron House, Fonab Castle, and The Gleneagles Hotel.

From early 2025, Mar Hall will begin rolling out its new features including its new arrival and reception area, new bar and restaurant spaces, as well as the redesigned rooms and suites. It is also building 30 new woodland lodges across the estate which will add 48 bedrooms to the resort. The expansion will also see a new spa and spa garden.
