Dalhousie Castle & Aqueous Spa sold to US private buyer

Specialist hotel property adviser, Christie & Co has announced Dalhousie Castle & Aqueous Spa has been sold to a US-based private buyer.

The hotel has been owned and operated by Robert and Gina Parker, as part of their luxury hotel group, The Robert Parker Hotel Collection, and came to the market after they announced their decision to retire earlier this year.

It is Scotland’s oldest inhabited castle, located just eight miles from Edinburgh. The 13th century castle features 35 bedrooms, a spa and 2 AA rosette dining in the Dungeon Restaurant

The transaction was brokered by Gary Witham Director in Christie & Co’s Scottish Hospitality team and David Lee Regional Director of Hotels – North.

Gary said, “This is a stunning heritage asset within easy reach of Edinburgh, and it will undoubtedly reap the benefits of the capital’s burgeoning overseas leisure market, which was proven by the strong international interest in the hotel.”

David added, “I have known Mr Parker for a number of years’, and we are delighted to conclude the sale of Dalhousie Castle Hotel for him.”
