The Caledonian Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh has been acquired by Henderson Park, a private real estate investment fund manager and Klarent Hospitality, Henderson Parks in-house hotel operator and asset manager. The deal, believed to be worth £85 million, is the same that Abu Dhabi-based Twenty14 Holdings paid Goldman Sachs in 2018 for the 241-room hotel.
It joins Carlton on North Bridge and the DoubleTree Edinburgh Airport in the collection of 12 hotels of Henderson Park and Klarent, and the third hotel in the Hilton portfolio in Edinburgh.
London-based Henderson Park, launched in 2016, has invested $14 billion in real estate assets across Europe in sectors such as hospitality, retail, offices and student housing with many of the hotel assets either managed or franchised by Hilton Worldwide.
Twenty14 Holdings, part of Indian billionaire Yusuff Ali’s LuLu Group International, has assets of more than $650m assets across the UK, Middle East and India.
