Native Places expands in Edinburgh with two new Aparthotels

Native Places, part of the NUMA Group, is expanding its footprint in Scotland with two new aparthotel developments in Edinburgh. The openings form part of a wider UK expansion that includes a new site in London, and mark a move into hybrid hotel and apartment accommodation across key urban centres.

In Edinburgh, the brand will open a 45-unit aparthotel in Leith, located on Water Street, and a 72-room property on Thistle Street in the New Town. Both locations offer a mix of short-stay hotel rooms and longer-stay apartments, aimed at business and leisure guests.

The Leith development is close to the Royal Yacht Britannia, The Shore, and the Water of Leith Walkway, while Thistle Street is within walking distance of St Andrew Square, Princes Street, and the St James Quarter.

The projects are part of a joint strategy between Native Places and parent company NUMA Group, which is driving expansion in culture-led neighbourhoods and centrally located city areas.

Olivia Immesi, CEO of Native Places, said, “Native Places has grown into one of the UK’s leading lifestyle aparthotel and serviced apartment brands, and we’re excited to now offer hotel rooms for hybrid stays – giving our guests even more flexibility. I’m incredibly excited to be partnering with NUMA as we work together to build one of the largest platforms for lifestyle hotels, aparthotels, and serviced apartments across Europe.”

The brand combines fully equipped apartments with hotel-style services including housekeeping and concierge. The Edinburgh properties will also integrate NUMA’s digital guest journey, which includes online check-in, contactless access, and a tech-led operations model.

Dimitri Chandogin, President of NUMA Group, added, “With Margaret Street in London and two centrally located properties in Edinburgh, NUMA is advancing a UK strategy focused on prime, culture-rich districts and a fully digital guest journey that today’s travellers expect. Partnering with HUB enables us to deliver design-led, future-ready accommodation in outstanding urban locations, while our technology platform drives efficient operations and consistently high guest satisfaction.”

The expansion into Scotland supports NUMA Group’s wider European growth strategy. The group is now active in 15 countries and 37 cities, with a portfolio of around 9,000 units. Future UK developments are planned for Manchester, Bristol, Belfast, and Glasgow.
