Luss Estates is to relaunch The Loch Lomond Arms this summer following a refurbishment of the 15-bedroom coaching inn by Russell Sage Studio.
The hotel, in the conservation village of Luss on Loch Lomond, forms part of the 45,000-acre estate operated by the Colquhoun family, whose business interests also include farming, forestry, Loch Lomond Golf Club, Luss General Store and camping.
Patrick Colquhoun is overseeing the project, which will see the inn’s bedrooms, public areas and adjoining events space redesigned ahead of reopening.
He said, “The Loch Lomond Arms will relaunch this summer, creating a new way to enjoy the wild beauty of one of Scotland’s most iconic destinations, and continuing to protect and preserve the Loch and land for generations to come.”
he refurbishment covers 14 bedrooms within the hotel and one external room overlooking the River Luss, along with a new-look restaurant, boot room and map room, while the events space beside the hotel is also being updated for weddings, parties, meetings and private use.
According to Luss Estates, the redesign has been informed by material from the Colquhoun family archive, with details throughout the hotel referencing the family, the estate and the wider Loch Lomond area. Around 60% of the furniture in the bedrooms will be upcycled antiques from the family collection.
The bedrooms will be named after Colquhoun ancestors and will feature fabrics by Fermoie and hand-painted furniture.
The relaunch comes as Luss Estates continues to develop its wider visitor offer around the village and loch. Attractions nearby include Luss Distillery, which opened in October 2025 and produces Ben Lomond Scottish Gin, while the estate also offers access to boating, outdoor activities and other visitor experiences.
