Trump Turnberry, operated by SLC Turnberry Limited, has made a profit for the first time since being acquired by Donald Trump in 2014. The accounts show that the resort reported a pre-tax profit of £0.57m in 2022, up from a £3.7m loss in 2021.
Operating profit was up from £1.1m to £3.2m, +196%, and turnover was up £8.7m (66%) from £13.1m to £21.8m following the relaxing of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, 10 year-old Trump International Golf Club Scotland Limited, which owns Trump International Scotland, the country house hotel and golf course in Aberdeenshire, saw pre-tax losses increase from £696,845 in 2021 to £738,344.
Turnover was up from £2.1m to £3.6m, the best-performing year for the resort to date, but cost of sales and administration costs were also up, from £2.7m to £4.1m, +52%. Both costs and increased visitor numbers will also be reflecting the re-opening following the pandemic.
