Michael Dunn of md-hospitality has teamed up with Dram and Hotel Scotland to offer free design and consultancy service to bars, pubs, restaurants and hotels who may be considering a refurbishment in the early part of 2024, or even hoping to spruce up their venue before Christmas, to give something back to the sector after a difficult year.
Michael said, “As I look back on 2023 I believe that most operators are being very careful in deciding what level of investment they are comfortable making in their properties.
“There has also been a “tightening of belts” throughout all hospitality businesses and the lessons which were learnt during lockdown are being applied as businesses move forward.
“I have been impressed with the extra attention to detail owners have been applying to all elements of their businesses from “top to bottom”, whether it be training , retention of staff, wastage, supply chain, and of course, design.
Gordon McIntyre of Hospitality Health added, “The industry has experienced turmoil since COVID, however what is pleasing to see is the positive attitude towards employees’s mental health.
“Within all that needs to be managed in the many crises business have faced, there is one thing that has come through positively. Many have changed their culture to a more caring and compassionate one towards staff. And this includes the support businesses are giving each other.”
Michael continues, “The festive season is one of the busiest times of the year and it’s often too late to get things looking the way you need them to take best advantage of this high footfall period. We know that the design services can often be hard to get right so decided to make this offer.
“It’s been a tough few years for everyone, and we have a few months to go yet, but there is much to look forward to in 2024, and I just wanted to do something at this time of the year”.
