Second Hotel Indigo opens in Edinburgh

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened its second boutique Hotel Indigo in Edinburgh on 20 Princes Street.

The design of Hotel Indigo Edinburgh Princes Street reflects Edinburgh’s culture and history with paintings of famous authors, poets and artists and Harris Tweed soft furnishings in each of its 64 rooms.

It will house Twenty Princes Street restaurant, headed by Executive Chef, Tony Sarton, and bar Juniper which will serve cocktail made from locally sourced ingredients, homemade juices and infusions.

It joins IHG’s growing portfolio of Scottish hotels, including Hotel Indigo Edinburgh on York Place and Hotel Indigo Glasgow on Waterloo Street.

Helen Gallagher, General Manager of Hotel Indigo Edinburgh – Princes Street, said, “Edinburgh is an inspiring city with a rich literary heritage; this local culture has been reflected throughout the hotel design and our award-winning restaurant and bar to create something truly unique and stylish.”

Hotel Indigo Edinburgh – Princes Street will operate under a franchise agreement with The Station Hotel (Newcastle) Ltd.

There are currently 20 Hotel Indigo properties in Europe, including nine IHG hotels in Edinburgh.
