Dakota Edinburgh has announced their latest sustainability effort with the reveal of a new solar panelled roof, with 207 panels now installed atop the luxury boutique hotel.
In a bid to become a more sustainable destination, Dakota Edinburgh’s solar panels will provide renewable energy for the entire property of 130 bedrooms, a Bar and Grill, and several meeting rooms and private dining spaces.
This installation follows in the footsteps of sister property Dakota Eurocentral which added 400 solar panels to the roof in 2022, and in 2021, the hotel appointed electric charging points to encourage conscious travel.
Eve McIntyre, Energy Efficiency Manager for Dakota Hotels commented, “Installing solar panels is an extremely positive step for Dakota; we’re incredibly excited about our journey towards a more eco-conscious future. This is just the beginning; this project brings us one step closer to our environmental goals.”
She added, “We strive to be sustainable within our practices inside the hotels, so why not echo this outside, too? This project aligns perfectly with our goal of creating a culture that prioritizes environmental responsibility. Our team members and guests have embraced this initiative with enthusiasm, and we look forward to the next stages in our sustainability journey.”
